Gabe AKA Fuhat and I reviewed Joel Greenblatt’s Gotham Asset Management portfolio as of recent 13F filings that are publicly available online. For example you can view some of Greenblatt’s portfolio here.
Joel Greenblatt is known for his Magic Formula investing strategy, which involves evaluating stocks based on the ranking of two criteria. These “magic” financial ratios are called the Earnings Yield (reverse of Price To Earnings ratio) and Return on Invested Capital (ROIC).
We know that Greenblatt tried to make investing super simple for his kids and for the general public, and he makes educational resources available at his website.
Gotham Asset Management (GAM) seems to have 1293 stock positions and mainly holds the SPY ETF, which is an index fund ETF of the S&P 500.
Greenblatt is the author of The Little Book That Beats The Market and You Can Be A Stock Market Genius, among other popular investing books.
