I’m on the journey toward financial freedom and this is what it looks like to me when I hopefully achieve it someday. Enjoy the mountain and lake scenery of Switzerland!
On a day when many people celebrate independence, I thought this would be great timing to share a few video clips from my snowboarding and lakeside adventures.
I talk about when one has become financially free, one can do anything in the world, and to me that would include doing my investing practice, snowboarding, and hiking, stand up paddle (SUP) boarding, among many other activities.
I’m striving to invest like the GOATs Warren Buffett and Charlie Munger because I believe that’s the right and best way to become financially independent by investing our capital wisely in the right investment opportunities.
I think it’s important to be grateful and to try to help others on their financial journeys so we all improve our life situations.
However, I use a few skiing/snowboarding analogies using mountain trails (ski piste) and where people might be in their lives along the freedom spectrum. A ski bum might have something in common with a wealthy person in that they’re both “free” in a way. The ski bum has all the time in the world, while a wealthy person who’s financially free but can’t enjoy it might be time poor.
If I’m financially free, I look forward to being able to snowboard more often and keep investing throughout my whole life.
To quote Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj: “Once you realize that the road is the goal and that you are always on the road, not to reach a goal, but to enjoy its beauty and its wisdom, life ceases to be a task and becomes natural and simple, in itself an ecstasy.”
I look forward to making more investor friends! Add me on Instagram: michellemarki
